Church of Our Saviour to Hold a Blessing of the Animals on the Milford Oval

The Church of Our Saviour in Milford will be celebrating the
gift of animals in our lives with a Blessing of the Animals ceremony on the
Milford Oval, Union Square, Sunday, October 6, at 2 p.m.

Area pets and their owners are encouraged to take part in
the ceremony where they can come forward for an individual blessing. Treats for
the pets and prayer cards for their owners will be presented. The gathering will
also be a time to honor the memory of our departed pets.

The annual ceremony, which will include a liturgy for the
thanksgiving and blessing of our animals, is held at this time of year in
recognition of the feast of St. Francis, patron saint of animals and the
environment.
