Town Operations Up And Running Once Again

Town operations are up and running once again as repairs are made to Amherst Town Hall.

Amherst’s town departments have relocated to two temporary locations while $279,000 in repairs are made to the town hall building.

The Town Clerk, Tax Collector, Assessing, and the Community Development offices are relocating to the Central Fire Station on Amherst Street. Administration and Finance are relocating to the Amherst Middle School.

Employees are making do in their new location, even as the Town Clerk operates out of the fire station’s kitchen.

The project is expected to take 2-3 months.
