Voters Pass Souhegan Roof Replacement

Amherst and Mont Vernon showed their support at yesterday's town meeting elections.

Amherst Patch has gotten the Mont Vernon numbers for the Souhegan operating budget, which combined with Amherst comes to a 1,169-1,141 vote in favor.

A majority of Mont Vernon voters dissaproved the budget with a final vote of 122-158, but it was not enough to beat the Amherst voters in favor.

Souhegan joins the Amherst School District in having their operating budgets pass, while the town's proposed budget was shot down.

Funding for a replacement of Souhegan High School's roof and HVAC system received favor in both Amherst and Mont Vernon, according to The Nashua Telegraph.

The article received the majority vote from both Amherst and Mont Vernon during yesterday's elections, which will spend $1,950,000 on the main building repairs. Amherst passed it with a 1,423-603 vote, while Mont Vernon passed it with a less decisive 199-139
