Souhegan Girls Advance to Semifinals in 2-1 Win

Souhegan will play Hanover in Exeter on Wednesday.

The Souhegan Girls' Soccer team defeated the Goffstown Grizzlies 2-1 on Saturday and advance to the semifinals of the Division II state championship tournament. 

Peyton Kent score both of the Souhegan goals. The first goal scored occurred off a pass from Hannah Chick and was kicked in by Kent mid way through the first half.  Peyton Kent's second goal came early in the second half to give the Sabers a 2-0 lead. 

Mikaela Sullivan had an excellent game in goal. Souhegan will travel to Exeter High School for the Division II semifinals on Wednesday at 4 p.m. to play the Hanover Marauders. The Souhegan Sabers met the Hanover Marauders in the 2011 Division II Championship, a contest Souhegan won in overtime.
