Logan Landrum, 17, Wins Trot Off Your Turkey 5k
12-year-old Arielle Zlotnik places 1st for females at annual post-Thanksgiving road race.
Congratulations to Jason Bender, 19, of Amherst, who won the Amherst Junior Women's Club's annual Trot Off Your Turkey 5k on Friday morning. Bender completed the 3.1-mile race in a time of 16:13, beating second-place finisher Logan Landrum, 17, of Mont Vernon, (18:32) by 2:19. Andy Caulton, 51, of Amherst rounded out the men's top 3 finishers in a time of 18:54.
Finishing first on the female side was 12-year-old Arielle Zlotnik of Amherst, finishing the race in 20:44. Zlotnik placed 10th overall. She was followed by 14-year-old Shannon Earley (14th place overall), also of Amherst, in a time of 21:07. Finishing third for females was Jennifer Raudeluna, 41, of Amherst, in a time of 22:03.
There were a total of 225 runners who completed the race. Congratulations to all the runners and walkers who participated.
