Eight Fall Athletes Earn All-State Honors

And additional late-season accolades.

With the fall sports season at its conclusion, and tryouts for winter sports under way, there are numerous athletes from the fall teams who've earned honors and accolades at the end of their season. 

Congratulations to the nine runners, – two girls and seven boys – who ran in the New England Cross Country Championships at Derryfield Park in Manchester on Nov. 9. New Englands brings the top individual runners and teams from Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire including this year, 264 female runners and 260 male. In the girls race, Madeleine Hunt finished in 88th and Hannah Gillis placed 247th. In the boys race, the team placed 14th overall, out of 30 teams, and earned second among New Hampshire teams. The individual members were Eli Moskowitz (43), Patrick Lynch (80), Brett Quinn (129), Ryan Lynch (134), Ben Massa (172), Ben Platt (217), and Logan Landrum (221).

Congratulations to the Souhegan High School cheerleading squad who earned a seventh-place finish at the Division II State Championships at Southern New Hampshire University on Nov. 10.

New Hampshire All-State honors have also been handed down to several Souhegan athletes.

Congratulations to Devon Hickey for being selected for first team honors and Lauren McCormick and Madi Angulas for being selected for second team honors for field hockey; to Reed Larson and Mike Hayden who were awarded 2nd team honors and Matt Hopfenspirger who was awarded honorable mention for boys soccer; and to Peyton Kent who earned first team honors, Taylor Behn for second team honors, and Hailey Johnson was awarded honorable mention for girls soccer.

Kent also earned honors for All-New England soccer.
