Hidden Pond Apartments Now Leasing

Affordable housing project is complete about a year after construction began.

A five-building housing development with 28 two-bedroom townhouse-style apartments has sent out mailers to area towns that it is now renting.

The mailers announce that construction is now complete at Hidden Pond Apartments, at 104 Amherst St., for a rental fee of $925 per month. This rental fee includes heat and hot water and two parking spots per apartment.

The two-bedroom, 1.5 bathroom units also include dishwashers and in-unit washer dryer hookups. The apartments are each two levels and have front and back entrances.

Ground was broken on this project in October 2012, about three years after the idea of constructing affordable housing in town was approached. Rental of the units is met with income limits, requiring that the household income of those living in a unit does not exceed the high water mark of 60 percent of the total area median family income, which is $56,400 for a family of four.

The project was developed by Neighborworks Southern New Hampshire, a non-profit organization that helps people find financial stability either through home ownership or helping them find well-priced apartments.

The property is managed by Stewart Property Management. People interested in looking at a unit can call 603-644-8447.
