Help Alex Preston Make American Idol's Top 10

The Souhegan High grad won rave reviews Wednesday from all three judges for his performance of the song "Falling Slowly" from the movie "Once."

Souhegan High graduate Alex Preston took to the American Idol stage on Wednesday night looking to move on to the Top 10.

The 20-year-old Mont Vernon native performed "Falling Slowly" from the movie "Once," and the judges loved it. But ultimately it's up to the voting public to decide whether he stays.

"That was a perfect song for you, you sang it perfectly. It was beautiful," Jennifer Lopez said.

"What I love about your performance is it always holds my attention because it's very raw and fragile," added Keith Urban. "It's very real. You don't ever phone it in. You're always in the moment... I love your artistry."

To vote for Preston, text 9 to 83676, call 1-855-4-IDOL-09 (1-855-443-6509) or visit www.AmericanIdol.com.Alex Preston for American IDOL 2014.

"Please vote. I have big plans for this industry, and getting that chance would be a dream come true. I love you all :)," Preston Tweeted on Wednesday.

The elimination show takes place on Thursday at 9 p.m. If Preston makes it through to the Top 10, he will also earn himself a spot on this summer's American Idol tour.
