Alex Preston Safe, Sam Woolf Gone

Alex Preston is now one of the final four on American Idol, after Sam Woolf was voted off the season May 1.

American Idol host Ryan Seacrest gave the final five two options: they could have the lowest vote-getter be voted off the show Thursday night, or there would be two performers sent packing the next week.

Sam Woolf didn't make the cut.

Preston, a Souhegan High graduate with plenty of hometown support, has notched some great performances in the past couple of weeks as the show marches on to its finale.
