Alex Preston Closer to Being the Next American Idol

Alex Preston, fresh from a whirlwind "homecoming" celebration in New Hampshire, will sing for keeps tonight on American Idol.

Before his concert last Saturday at the University of New Hampshire, Preston told reporters he was inspired by the hometown support. 

American Idol airs tonight, Wednesday, at 8, and on Thursday at 9. As Idol notes, it's "judges' pick, Randy's pick and hometown pick" for this week's performances.

The final three are Preston, Jena Irene and Caleb Johnson.
