In honor of the season of giving, HPM Insurance has partnered with Blue Steel Cyclery of Manchester to provide bikes and helmets to four children selected by SHARE Outreach.
This act came to fruition after it became known that bicycles are on the lists of many of the SHARE Outreach children but given the size and cost involved, such requests are not easily fulfilled.
Lyle Fulkerson, president and CEO of HPM Insurance, has had a lifelong passion for biking and feels that a bike is the best gift a child can receive. “Every child should have a bike,” Fulkerson said. “It is a rite of passage that every child should experience as it not only builds confidence, but also provides a sense of freedom few other toys can provide. This experience can last a life time.”
The executive director of SHARE, Christine Janson, indicated that this donation is especially meaningful for a family who has recently overcome many hardships. “The bikes will allow the kids a healthy, physical outlet like no other gift can,” Janson said. “We are so grateful to HPM Insurance and Blue Steel Cyclery for making the holidays so special for this family.”
The four bikes were delivered to SHARE on December 23rd.
