I think that your readers should be aware that on Tuesday, the House Finance Committee voted along party lines to derail a bill that would have removed the moratorium on public charter schools and helped to prevent the loss of approximately $5.6 million in federal funding.
The main proponent behind retaining the bill was Representative Dan Eaton who coincidentally was recorded on video tape last week discussing HB299. It seems like a political move that essentially threw New Hampshire's children under the bus and threatens to play Russian roulette with millions in federal funding. I understand that the legislature can be a very challenging place however I think that what happened was wrong.
