When asked what helped him become such a successful student, Pitts said there were many factors at play.

“I attribute my success at the university to many things. The military provided me with discipline and excellent organizational and time management abilities… I have been afforded many opportunities to be involved on campus and to benefit from the guidance and mentorship of amazing people that make this campus special.  This institution has had a profound impact on my transition from the military into civilian life…I could not have achieved the success I have enjoyed without the continuous support of my wife, who has made it possible for dedicate myself so intensely to my education.”
