Lamontagne: I Will Sue Federal Government

The Republican gubernatorial candidate joined Congressman Charlie Bass at Joey's Diner on Saturday.

New Hampshire gubernatorial candidate Ovide Lamontagne and Congressional candidate Charlie Bass made efforts to convince Amherst Republicans that they had the conservative values to take on the Democrats.

Lamontagne assured members of the Amherst Republican Committee that healthcare legislation would be a top issue if he took office. He said that President Obama’s healthcare reform is hurting job creation and, if elected, he would sue the federal government on his first day.

“We have to get control of our own healthcare system,” said Lamontagne at Joey’s Diner on Saturday.

Education is another key issue in Lamontagne’s campaign, and the Republican candidate said his time as a teacher and on the state board of education gives him the experience needed to help New Hampshire schools.

He said he fully supports CACR 12, which would give over education funding in the state.

Lamontagne then went after his Democratic rivals, who he says want the courts to run our schools, which would hurt the state’s education system.

He would also demand that agencies conduct an economic impact analysis before imposing regulations in the state, while also looking at which current ones could be repealed.

Congressman Charlie Bass focused his speech on the economy and the need for Republicans to roll back Obama’s policies.

“Barack Obama ran on change, not the kind of change america needs,” he said. “And I dont want New Hampshire to be controlled another day by Democrats.”

Bass said that dismal news on the job market should be a wake up call for voters, as well as the climbing debt in the country.

“If you like what we have had the past four years, vote for Barack Obama,” he said.
