Amherst Candidates Begin Race For Open Seats

Eight hopefuls have filed their candidacy for the available town positions so far.

A handful of candidates have declared their candidacy since the filing period opened last week.

Reed Panasiti announced his candidacy for the one of the two open selectmen seats, which are up for grabs this year. Vice-chair Dwight Brew and selectman George Infanti’s terms end in March.

Brew has announced his candidacy to remain in his seat.

William M. Cassidy, Kathy E. Brundage and Robin K. Julian are all running unopposed for the three open library trustee seats.

Robert Rowe is the only candidate in the running for a seat on the zoning board so far.

Peter Bergin is running for the three-year trustee of the trust funds position, as well as the open cemetery trustee seat. Richard Lefebvre will be up against him for the cemetery position this year.

Filing period for candidates ends on Friday, Feb. 1. Candidates may file at the town clerk’s office during regular business hours and up to 5 p.m. on Feb. 1.

Mr. Brew laughs at citizens complaints and problems with the Town.
This, to me, shows he has absolutely NO IDEA of the issues being presented to him, or he feels "above it all".
Not being re-elected would not be a "loss" to the Town citizens, in my considered opinion, but a BIG plus.
We need people who want to serve and and are interested and take their oath of office seriously.

He has NEVER been up to review the issues I presented to the Board.
Asset to the Town: NO.
